Einar Mæle is Senior Advisor and joined Ascender in April 2021. Einar works with the recruitment of professionals across several areas. Einar holds a master's degree in entrepreneurship and innovation from BI Business School. In addition to his studies, Einar has worked part-time in the staffing and recruitment industry in Stavanger. Einar has also had an internship in business development, strategy and innovation in a startup, as well as the industrial group Lyse.
What was it like to start as a counselor at Ascender?
At Ascender, I get great opportunities to challenge myself and I feel that I am invested in and invested in. As part of the team at Ascender, I became a central part of the implementation of the projects from sourcing candidates to interviews, presentation to customer and closing. I get to actively participate in meetings with clients and candidates and thus become a real contributor internally and a sparring partner externally.
“Since joining Ascender, I have worked on projects within Management Consulting, Finance and Finance, Private Equity, M&A and Business Development.”
For example, I have had the opportunity to lead a project for a large industrial company in charge of the dialogue with the customer and candidates, and recruited a CFO for an international company.
How would you describe Ascender and the workday?
Ascender is a consulting company where I have received a good introduction to the “consultant mind set”, as well as the training I have needed. I have quickly become involved in the processes from A-Z and we always work in teams. I can easily see the results of the work being done. I am constantly given increased responsibility, but at the same time I can rely on competent team members with extensive operational experience from the roles we recruit for, as well as from the recruitment industry.
“Workday in Ascender is dynamic. I am working on several projects at the same time that are in different phases. No project is the same as something that makes me have had and have a very steep learning curve.”
What do you think is the best thing about working at Ascender?
The best thing about working at Ascender is having the opportunity to work with high-ranking companies and roles, where I get a unique insight into their business and needs. I have gained an in-depth understanding of what the clients and candidates are working on. In order to be the best advisor, I read up on industries, companies and the candidate image.
I get the opportunity to build a broad and solid network within the Norwegian business community, as well as become a “go-to person” for clients and candidates. I also get to work with an ambitious team with a “high performance culture” where everyone works towards a common goal.
How would you describe the working environment in Ascender?
The working environment in Ascender is very good. We have an environment where people want to work hard and that goes a long way for clients, candidates and colleagues. I'm encouraged to work across different projects which means I get to work alongside everyone in the company. This means that there is a strong community and great opportunities for sharing experience and knowledge.
“We have a very social workplace where it's high under the roof. We have a dedicated social committee which organises Friday games, kick-off, summer party and Christmas parties. In 2022, we also traveled to Lisbon.”
