Berkley Nordic is seeking a proactive, communicative and business-oriented underwriter to expand its Oslo office. The main responsibility for this role will be to grow and develop Berkley Nordic’s casualty portfolio in Norway. The Senior Underwriter will report to the Nordic Head of Casualty Lines in Stockholm and will work closely with the Nordic team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Underwriting of new business

  • Renewal of existing business

  • Strategic planning, driving business development and market activities

  • Maintaining a high level of service towards brokers and clients

  • Interact with and follow up of relevant stakeholders

Desired background and qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification, preferably Master of Laws

  • Minimum 10 years relevant casualty underwriting or broking experience from the insurance industry. Experience from Professional Indemnity underwriting or broking is extra qualifying.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Norwegian, or other Scandinavian language
